Understand chemistry and analysis, measure performance, and work with modern materials. Take the levels in order: each one uses what the last one taught.
Level 7
The organic chemistry a perfumer uses, how structure relates to odor, degradation, and what GC-MS can and cannot tell you.
18 lessons · Outcome: A material dossier linking structure, behavior and an analytical reading.
Level 8
Projection, longevity, bloom, intensity and stability, and how to test them without fooling yourself.
16 lessons · Outcome: A controlled performance test with its data and its limitations stated.
Level 9
Modern musks, woody ambers, transparent florals, high-impact materials, biotech ingredients and experimental design.
14 lessons · Outcome: An experimental composition with a written rationale.
A working knowledge of Stages A and B. Most of this stage is reading, reasoning and designing tests with what you have. Where a method needs an instrument, the lesson teaches you to read its results and says so plainly.
Plan for a season or more. A stability or wear test takes as long as it takes, and several exercises run in the background of your other work.
